Goodbye Summer!

Let's start with the important bit: new wedding date. Wedding will now be August 22nd, 2009. We bumped it up a couple weeks to accomodate many members of Bonnie's family who couldn't make the Setpember time. No real difference. Plans are coming along. She's going to a bridal expo in Calgary next weekend and I am going in to hiding. A place in Bayfield has been booked, as has Dad's backyard up at Grand Bend. All that remains to be decided is how much free booze everybody gets and voila! instant party. Right?

We're really enjoying our new place still; all that extra space is quite nice. We've even used our *real* fireplace a couple times. Here's a shot from last night. We got a bottle of wine, started the fire, and did some wedding planning (sort of). Ok, mostly we just watched the Food Network. Anyway, I think this photo is all cozy and Banff-like

Next up, a couple shots from our porch. Yes, we mostly see a bus parking lot and the backside of a rather ugly building, but you can also see some nice things too. The first one is our "front yard", Bonnie's car, and more proof that the animals in this area make no distinction about whether or not they are in town. The 2nd is the top of Cascade from our porch. The snow is fresh and always looks so good on the mountains.

In warmer days, we have been walking the dogs about a block down the street to a little beach on the Bow River. The current is quite strong here, but the curve of the river creates a nice, calm pool at the edge. Just like at Sauble, the dogs love the water and we love getting outside and enjoying the sun (when it is actually out). Couple of pictures of one time out there.

Finally, as you may have read in my title, summer is pretty well finished out here. Hopefully it'll put in a few last gasps but truly, for the most part, things are looking pretty fall-like and wintery. The next 2 are the scene when I woke up on Sunday morning....that's Sunday AUGUST 31
